Montréal Trip

For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting this Monday, one of the big things we discussed was a trip to Montréal that we are trying to plan for this fall. We don't have a lot of details ironed out, just that we want to go and see some awesome historical sites!

In order for this trip to be enjoyable for as many people as possible, we would like as much feedback as possible!! We ask two things of you:

1) Check out Montréal's tourism website. If you see any sites or events that you are interested in, please comment on this post, or write them down and bring them to the next meeting.

2) Determine which weekend works best for you, and which is the absolute worst. Then post this in a comment as well!

Also, if you have any amazing fundraising ideas (or connections) let us know! The trip will pretty much be all out of pocket (except for museum admission) unless we do some fundraising.

We look forward to hearing your feedback!

At the Notre Dame Basilica, there is an awesome show that tells the history of the Basilica, which includes the history of Montreal and brings to light a great deal about the church-building tradition.

In regards to worst weekends, 10/ 25&26, 11/ 8&9, 11/15&16. Best weekends would be 11/ 22&23 or 11/29&30. This puts s around our thanksgiving break, and it allows the most time for fundraising.

What types of fundraisers have been the most successful in the past on campus? In the area, anything that involves kids reaps good rewards. Hillside pizza in South Deerfield does fundraising help...people pre-purchase pre-made pizzas, we deliver them, then they at home can cook them up. We receive a portion of the $ for each pizza sold.

The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre is interesting. And it noted on the tourism website that November 16 is free of charge.

The montreal museum of fine arts is free too, but they appreciate donations. They charge to see whatever temp. exhibit they have at the time.
