Professor Chat: Jose Angel Hernandez

We have the great pleasure of welcoming Professor Hernandez of the History Department on February 22nd at 7pm in Herter 601. Having completed his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago, his research focuses on repatriated Mexicans during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Among other courses, he teaches History 354 History of Mexico and History 120 Colonial Latin America. Be sure to come out and meet one of UMass's finest!

Other announcements:

There will not be history club the week of the 15th even though Tuesday (Feb. 16) is a Monday schedule.

Emails will be going out regarding serving on our special action committees, if you signed up at the first meeting you should receive information from that particular committee. If you are interested in serving on one of the committees, email your request to umasshistoryclub@gmail.com. Current committees include the Veterans Oral History Project and the History of UMass Tour.

If you have any professors that you would like to see come in, let us know!

First Meeting!

Hey History Club! We hope you all had a restful winter break and are looking forward to the coming semester. Our first meeting is Monday Feb. 1st at 7:00pm in Herter 601. We will be going over general information as well as holding important sign-ups for various projects. Hope to see you there!
